Okay, I have placed a file test.xs3 in my ~/Public directory. If I
open it in xess, and look at the edit menu, it looks fine (the C in
the Ctrl-U of "Undo" is underneath the "F" of "Format" in the upper
bar).
If I go through and change each of the text lines from "First Line" to
"A", "Second Line" to "B", and so on (using the technique of typing
and then hitting down arrow to enter), and then change all the numbers
in the second column to 1 through 10, using the same technique, and
then look at the edit menu, it's wider (the C of Ctrl-U is now under
the "t" of Format).
If I change the text lines to "First" through "Tenth" and the numbers
to 5, 10, 15, and so on, the edit menu is wider again (the C of Ctrl-U
is under the "l" in Tools).
As far as I can tell, further puttering will continue to cause the
menu to widen until the text on the right hand side is no longer
visible, and after that I can't tell if it's getting wider or not. :)
