Hi again,

I'm not sure if the culprit is FrameMaker, the Sun X server, or a
combination of the two, but I have narrowed down the problem a bit.
FrameMaker on the Suns is currently set up to utilize the display
postscript extension of the X server, allowing it to display images
online which do not have a bitmap preview image included. (This is one
difference between a strict eps file and an epsi one.) If you do not
have the extension turned on, images will appear as gray boxes online,
but will print correctly. If, however, you do have preview images,
everything will be fine.

To turn off the option for yourself, create or edit the file
~/.Xresources and add the line

	Maker.useDPS:	False

As far as I can tell from your second chapter, your images do appear to
include preview bitmaps, so you should be able to view them online.

If I can fine a better solution, I'll let you know.
