Hello Don,
We have narrowed the problem down to the interaction between FrameMaker
and the X server running on Solaris machines, though I'm not sure which
program is actually at fault. You can get around the crashes by
specifying the X resource
Maker.useDPS: False
in your ~/.Xresources file. Setting this resource will stop Frame from
using the Display Postscript extension of the Sun X server. This means
that if you import images which do not include some kind of bitmap
preview, the images will appear as gray boxes when you view them online.
They will, however, print correctly. To view images online, you need to
specify
Maker.useDPS: True
Until I decide what the correct default really should be, I'll leave it
set to True. Also, I'll be sure to let you know if we come up with a
better solution.

P.S. The problem which causes the crash is not consistent, so you may be
able to view images without the document crashing.
