5.5T and hosttype

It seems there are some 5.5T software workstations that don't have the
variable hosttype. Our software assumes the presence to detect RT or
Vax. Students get annoyed when the computer responds "hosttype unknown".
Please either fix that minor bug in 5.5T or put warnings to 18.03 students
to use another workstation. 500 students are trying to get problem sets done
before Friday!!!
