Hello,
It sounds like you are hitting the FrameMaker bug caused by unlimiting
descriptors in your environment. The problem has been reported to Frame
Technologies, and is actually a bug in one of the Sun libraries.
Until we upgrade our version of Solaris, the workaround is to set your csh
descriptor limit to 255 as in
limit descriptors 255
