Bug is known. Fixed in 2.4, back patch to 2.3 under way.
Under 2.1 message is dropped
Under 2.3 message is truncated at 128 chars.
This is because the streams log driver had a stupidly small message
length, 128 set in log.h. The full story is in
/mit/solarisdev/bugs_reported/syslogd.
wdc@mit.edu is on the list to get notified of the patch when it becomes
available. It should just arrive via email.
