sun4 7.6R: viewing Frame document in olh gives portmap error

Hi! When I try to view the  Frame on Athena document in olh, I get the
following error in the window where I started help:

usage: ps [ -edalfcj ] [ -r sysname ] [ -t termlist ]
        [ -u uidlist ] [ -p proclist ] [ -g grplist ] [ -s sidlist ]
 
You must have portmapper running to use FrameMaker.
 
Please start one by becoming root:
 
        athena% cd /
        athena% su
        Password: mrroot
 
and typing
 
        athena# /etc/portmap
        athena# exit
        athena% cd
 


I am able to start frame by doing "add frame; maker", so I think that
help should be able to start it itself too.
