This problem occurs because you do not have your font path set
correctly. I'd be willing to bet that your cursor was also either an
outline-lowercase `j' or and outline-lowercase-`a', depending on
whether or not you were in the scrollbar, as well. The problem comes
from the way EZ determines it's font path (since it actually uses
special font characters for many of it's graphics capabilities, for
performance reasons); the method it uses does not lend itself well to
remote use, and is even more complicated by the use of MacX. If you
really want to be able to do this, you should have whoever around
there knows about MacX add in entries similar to
/mit/andrew/5.1/{rt,vax,rsaix,decmips}/X11fonts - you'll have to
experiment to get the right one - to the font path of the MacX server.
