Still cathcing up.  A couple of quick notes.

1) I suspect that xcluster is getting less and less useful, since a)
   it doesn't include windows machines and b) I get the impression the
   clusters are generally a lot less full than they used to be.

2) Note that mitvma does still exist (it's just outsourced and only
   used for one application).  It's probably fine to drop the login
   support for it, but I wan'ted to make sure we were making an
   informed decision.

3) If it's reasonable secure (or secure enough in combination with the
   snapshot technology we expect to use) then it is probably the right
   choice.  This will also make random quickstations in the hallways
   more useful to anyone who happens to be walking by which is
   probably a feature, but could conceivably add more competition for
   these machines.
