One thing which needs to be done is to find out why the
files in my direcotry say ???????????????....
I can use tokata.mit.edu (Bill's machine), and the x.dialup.mit.edu's.
tokata works with movemail from my local directory, using
.emacs to .emacs.save and .emacs.hold to .emacs. when I use
x.dialups I reverse that (.emacs to .emacs.save, and .emacs.hold
to .emacs).
I think the machine needs to do some fixing ... as I said my .<files>
are confusing. so are alot of other files. I can access them on
tokata and the dialups just fine, but when I try to access them
from vinegar-pot it is very confusing.
"That should be the problem"! .emacs probably doesnt show up
on vinegar-pot. neither do .emacs.hold and .emacs.save
