first, why cc to helsuper? because, until these things are fixed I cannot
do my job in a time effective manner and I will point out every problem I
see until something is done about this (ie. move to something that WORKS
[eg. filemaker])
the problem: log#100055
it was fine to read on Friday, but now it looks like this:
*** November 17, 1997 11:47 AM *** lliang *** Talked to Client ***client came in because she hasn't been able to connect to her tether account for the past 3 months. She is using an internal 14.4 modem that came with her computer and she has tried dialing both the old and the new tether numbers but is disconnected or refused each time. She will bring her computer into walk-ins so we can try to get her connected. mark as pending. *** 11/18/1997 09:10AM *** dick_mon ***Client came to walkins this morning and dropped off the computer, power cable, and a Microsoft Access box with several diskettes and CD's (Win95, Encarta, Packard Bell CD, and others). *** November 18, 1997 11:17 AM *** dick_mon ***She said that she's had various people check the settings, including one guy from MIS, and they couldn't get it to work. She talked to someone at the front desk, who said that she would get reimbursed for the months it was unusable. But, her Tether problem still exists, so !
she dropped it off here. The modem works-the previous owner used it for faxing, an answering machine, and network access. She doesn't know what kind of modem it is. One problem may be that the modem needs an init string, but I reccommended that she look into getting one of the reccommended modems. I told her not to buy it yet, though, because someone who is more adept with PC's than me might be able to find an init string to work with it. She said if it's not a possiblity to get it working with Tether, that she would just get a new modem. *** November 21, 1997 3:16 PM *** abi *** Talked to Client ***Client stopped by walkins. She wanted to know the status of it. I told her that we haven't worked on it yet, and she said she'll call back on Monday. *** November 21, 1997 5:08 PM *** nhoward *** ***ttc, the modem just doesn't work with Tether. It's POSSIBLE that I could get it to work, but, it's really not worth it. the client is going to buy a new modem (she can only!
use internal modems so I hope she can find one....)she will come in
with the modem whenever she gets it (possibly not until after thanksgiving) *** November 24, 1997 4:35 PM *** cggriffi *** ***[Walk-in] Client says she was told, when she originally signed up, that her machine would be able to use Tether. Apparently, it can't. She hasn't used her Tether at all. She wants the account cancelled, and she would like a full refund, including the startup fee. She would also like to be notified by phone or email.Removed client from blue-box-acl, made notation in tetherlog.

why wasn't this found in Beta testing? (or is this considered beta testing?)

Nick.
