Hi folks,
As you probably know by now, Scopus is scheduled to become the system of
record for the helpdesk on Jan 8, 1997. It has fallen to me to see about
training for groups such as yours that use the database now through filemaker.
The only real training window i see is Monday and Tuesday, Jan 6 and 7.
I'd like feedback from you folks about how much training of what style
you'd find suitable. One option would be to:
- gather around a screen over where you do most of your work, and
- run through scopus' way of doing things
- paractice for a while using scopus to do what you normally do.
We could do this with folks from DCS and Telecomm together or separately.
The HD will also be doing its own internal training one or both of those days,
at times yet to be determined, probably on a machine setup in the batcave of
11-124g. You could also come over and be part of that effort.
Please take some time to consider the various options and let us know what suits
you best. Thanks!
Rob
