Scopus Implementation
Date: September 06,1996
Working On Milestone:
- Beta phase continues with multiple releases, testing, and assessment
of work required to complete this phase.
- Acceptance testing (1.0b5 release) to be conducted the week September 9th.
Goal is to conclude the beta phase and to begin a short release phase.
Accomplishments:
- Completed testing on release 1.0b4
- Determined minimal changes required for 1.0b5, added summary search (9/5)
- Completed first (8/29) and second drafts (9/6) of training document
- Prepared production machine (8/29) for Oracle, space planning completed
- Installed Oracle 7.1.6 on production machine (9/6)
- Follow-up on Scopus issues (Mac, InformTEAM), waiting for response
- Prepared new legacy data (Filemaker) for import into Oracle
Goals:
- Release 1.0b5 on 9/9 (complete database changes, searching, test)
- Prepare for student testing: review accounts, reload data
- Conduct staff and student testing 9/10
- Conduct testing feedback session
- Release final "beta" version of training document
- Continue with post Oracle tasks on production machine
- Plan date for export/import of data from test to production
- Continue (complete?) programmers documentation
- Revise rollout schedule
Issues:
- Outstanding Macintosh problems, Scopus duplicated problem against our
database. Waiting for a reply. Sent mail on August 7, received reply
that engineering is aware of problems, no new information. Issues
numbers are: 11337 (characters disappear in child entry fields),
11338 (sorting column headings of result sets), 11339 (printing issue).
--> Latest update is three week response for fix.
- InformTEAM (for generation of automated business rules) needs problem
resolution. Mail sent to Scopus (8/29), need follow up.
- SNS may be delayed - checking into Windows 95 issues.
Notes:
- The week of September 9 - 13 is pivotal for making a decision on
deployment. Acceptance testing will have been completed and the
production machine should be ready to accommodate a transfer of
data from test. If both of these items go well, we should have
enough information to base a decision on a release date.
