I took an initial pass of the FileMaker layout and attempted to map the
fields and data into Scopus.

A number of issues quickly surfaced:
- Changing username into a userid number
- code/lookup table differences
- Either expanding some fields (e.g. contact name) or concatenating some
   fields (e.g. date/time).
- Case changes

If we are to move forward with moving the data into Scopus, we need to make
a number of changes. One way to proceed is to try to load the minimum data
requirements (about 10 fields) before trying for a larger subset.

In any event, we need an effort with a number of people, most likely,
Peter, Lynne, Al and myself. The cycle appears to be - modify the data,
load it, test it, make changes, etc.

Since we are meeting tomorrow at 9:00 am, I would like to spend a few
minutes planning our next steps on this issue.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

FileMaker Fields:

client name
Scopus has a lastname and firstname field, we need to seperate out the name

Receive date and Receive time
Scopus has a concatenated field in a format of "MM DD YY HH:MI:SS"

Department
Scopus uses the number and then looks it up in a table. We need to
change the name to department numbers

Received by
FileMaker has the person's name, Scopus uses a "userid" number that
corresponds to the person's record in the user table. Thus, we need
  to map into a number

Method
  Probably ok

MIT Status
  Probably ok

Log Status
FileMaker has it in mixed case, we need it in uppper case since this is
how we chose to store it in the Scopus table and conditional statements
we wrote are based on upper case.

Log Number
  Probably ok

Call Back History
Does not map into the Help Desk application

Hardware
Does not match the code table (and thus the pick list). We need to
either update the code table or change the FileMaker data.

Software
  Same comment as Hardware

Housecall
Does not map into the Help Desk application

History
  Probably ok

Stock Answer
Does not map into the Help Desk application

Freeze Until
  Probably ok

Equipment Here
  Probably ok

Log Text
Does not map into the Help Desk application

OS
Need to confirm with code/lookup table

Software Version
Possible bad data (e.g. Apple Laserwriter), may need some cleanup

OS Version
Need to check that it matches the code/lookup table
For example, version in FileMaker of "95", should be 1.x and the
  OS should be "Windows 95".

Taken By
  Need userid number

Assigned To
Does not map into the Help Desk application

Modify Time and Modify Date
Need to concatenate in "MM DD YY HH:MI:SS" format

Model
Needs to be left justified and conform to code/lookup table

Topic
Need to conform to code/lookup table

Summary
  Probably ok

Other Phone
  Probably ok

Status Info
Does not map into the Help Desk application

Network
Does not map into main log table, need to check netinstall table

Netinstall fields:
There are a number of fields in the FileMaker layout that need to
be split into a seperate table for netinstall with the appropriate
log number from the log table.
