4. Next steps
1. Roundtable
Wade:
- Benchmarking of Scopus clients: 45 seconds for Windows '95 on
a Toshiba Pentium, 1 minute - 30 seconds on a Dell Intel Windows 3.1,
and four minutes for a PowerMacintosh 6100/60.
- Mail will be sent to Scopus on concerns, including the Macintosh,
number of bugs and time spent on resolution with the Scopus product.
- Ordering machine, waiting for price quote from Jafar via Sun. Team
decided that machine cname will be "helpdesk".
[after meeting, upon checking, this name is already taken]
Lynne
- Working on lookup tables for maintaining code tables, e.g.
software products. Terry is working on the main Help screen.
John/Ray
- Talked about continuing progress on the installers. (wade - There
is a need for the 32 Win version, increased error handling and
release notes - including dependencies. Priority is on 32 bit
installer).
Peter
- Working on storybook, currently 75% complete. Goal is to complete
by end of week - June 7.
Harold
- What happened to the information gathered on report needs.
(wade - this should be added as an appendix to the functional
specification. Next step is to have a meeting to determine
what reports can be done using a report writer (e.g. Crystal,
Brio), or using Data Probe from within Scopus. Meeting should
be scheduled before Terry leaves in case there are questions.
- NICIT is being aggressive on having an IT solution. Concerns
on timeline.
Chad/Ray
- Scope statement and initial set of questions completed and available
via the Web. [ wade comment - team should check this out]
- Chad/Ray will initiate conversations as needed to gather data to
help write the report.
[wade comment - this probably will continue after June 30]
Bryn
- Welcome. Bryn is taking over for Joanne and representing House
Call information.
2. Development Update (Lynne):
- Development is mostly done through DesignTEAM, which is a "point
and click" interface to generate screens.
- Lynne has been creating screens for Housecalls, including a
"response" window with backfill (e.g. when in a form and sending a
database query, if more than one record if found, this is called
a response window. Clicking on an entry in a response window
generates a "backfill", where the record is displayed in a form).
- Lynne has also modified some Tcl code generated from Terry.
3. Preparation for Testing:
- Lynne generated a first draft of testing checklist items for
the 1.0b1 release (check vital signs) as agreed upon during
a previous meeting.
Please review this list, send mail to tooltime with changes/
modifications. This list will be used as a basis for the
initial testing.
- Team will confirm that they can install the clients and login
using their accounts. Everyone should have an account (Bryn -
your account has now been created).
4. Next Steps:
Summary of action items from today's meeting:
- Ray/John to work on 32 Win Scopus installer
