James;
Coding blocks are handled diefferently in each piece of SAP code. Some
blocks are table driven, some hard coded. I only recommend BDC's as a last
resort anyway; since SAP has every right to change the screen sequences or
screens themselves at upgrade time (and they do it!). Search for an
appropriate function module in SE37. You can also search in SE80 for the
main program for journal posting and from there find the function modules
used. You can dump the data to a BDC format if the function fails, and
send it as an object in a workflow/ sapoffice message. I am about to get on
a plane or I would search the system for you quickly. Let me know if you
need that once you decide if you want to migrate you abap from bdc to using
f/m's.
