I have experience using ETI Extract.  It will do the job for you, but
you have to know exactly what you are extracting.  Also, Extract is
expensive - about $250K US for a minimum configuration license with 2
data system libraries.

You might try talking to Acta, but I don't know if they support R/2.
Both Acta and ETI are code generators.  There are a host of
message-based gateway products on the market.
