We want to make a copy of our production SAP system on a separate test
environment, to perform certain tests that have to be done on production
data. Our data center tells me that the fastest way to do this is to make a
backup of the entire SAP production database and restore this on a separate
test environment. This means though that we have the same client number in
the test environment as in the production environment. My understanding is
that the only way to change the client number in the test environment, would
be to do a client export, delete of the client and a client import in a new
client number. Due to the size of the production client, these last three
steps take an unacceptable amount of time (running into days).
Does anyone know of a faster way to change the client number, without having
to do the client export, delete and import.
