Toby,
Well currently I too seem to be in the same boat you are in. I too am a
final college senior on a archiving project, for HP. The best source for
the information maybe be hard to get but....I would contact someone on
the project team you will be working with and ask for the 2.2D Help CD.
Now they maynot just give this to you, but they maybe be able to print
off (using the docuprint cd) the "BC Archiving and Reorganization"
manual for you. I have several published books on SAP and none of them
cover archiving. Remember to ask "why" they want to archive? Performance
reasons? Sliming down the Database? etc. Approaching it from this angle
will help you cut out the guess work.
I may not come accross this newsgroup again so if you have more questions
or I just confused the whole issue more email: ebuchman@telis.org
Sounds like you have a great opportunity!!
Cheers, Eric
