Not quite the same thing. They were private citizens expending their
own resources. When the state govt. passes something, it doesn't come
out of their own pockets (the pockets of the individual members).
So it costs them nothing to impose a law that we will have to spend a
lot of time and money to overturn. I find that aspect even more
obnoxious than the law itself.
