Layered Athena is our effort at repackaging the unix Athena Computing
Environment to be a cleaner layering over the vendor operating system
which is easier for us to port and release and easier for private
workstation owners to install and manage.
On Tuesday, 27 Apr 92 at 3-5pm in E40-382, we will hold an open forum
on the design of Layered Athena. There are copies of the proposed
design in the E40 mail room, and it is available online in
/mit/layer/doc/design.{dvi,ps,txt}. This document refers to the
"Athena Layering Requirements", which may also be found in that
directory.
Everyone is welcome to come and give their comments. If you would
like to give us written comments, please send them to
layered-athena@mit.edu. This mailing list is archived in the discuss
meeting menelaus:/usr/spool/discuss/layer if you wish to read the
comments there.
