Drive 0 on echo, an AFS server, failed tonight around 12:40 (failed means
boot gets an error on any attempt to access the drive). The controller
and other drives are working: I ran standalone ls from a boot floppy, and
it could list hd(1,6); I booted a kernel from a boot floppy and it found
drives 1 and 2 but timed out on drive 0. Since drive 0 is down, so is the
server.
There were no dying words in the logs on either syslogger or wslogger.
vos listvldb says the following volumes are affected:
aproj.afsdev.mac.obj (drive 1)
aproj.motif1.1 (drive 1)
aproj.motifdev.bld (drive 0)
contrib.games (drive 1)
contrib.games.bld.nb (drive 0)
contrib.games.src (drive 0)
This means no games or motif 1.1 for a while.
We decided it wasn't important enough to page ops at 1AM Sunday morning,
on a holiday weekend.
