x11 is the x11r4 locker, which is quite old, which is why it has been
allowed to fall into its current state of disrepair.
You should have a look at the x11r5 locker (add x11r5) instead, at
least for source reference. x11r6 also has sources, although the
directory heirarchy has been changed. For linking with X libraries
these days you probably want to be linking against what the operating
systems provide (in /usr/include and /usr/lib on SGIs, and in
/usr/openwin/include and /usr/openwin/lib on Suns).
