The following normal building power (480V/208V/120V) shutdown (includes lab vac, reverse osmosis/de-ionized water, and lab air) for Bldg. 76 - Basement and 1st Floor, on Friday, August 10, 2012, 12:00am - 6:00am, is for your information and response. Reason: 
We request a bldg 76-basement and 1st floor normal power shutdown from 12 AM to 6 AM on Friday morning, August 10th 2012 for Gaston Electric (Jim Reen 617-212-8496) to install an electric meter/electrical monitoring equipment for the 480V electrical distribution panel D4B located in the basement high voltage room and as part of the KI building project. Normal 480V/208V/120V building power in the basement and on the 1st floor will be affected. 

Temporary power to refrigerators in rooms 185, 182 and 181A will be provided.
Temporary power to the Fish Room will be provided for the sea monkey equipment.
Temporary power and a power strip for KI headquarters will be provided.
Media room freezers are now on permanent emergency/stand-by power.
169 security system has 4 hours of battery power. SEMO will evaluate the batteries after the shutdown.
An MIT Police detail will be hired for additional bsmt/1st floor security as normal lighting is also affected on these two floors.


Effect: 
Loss of normal building power, reverse osmosis/de-ionized water, compressed lab air, and lab vacuum for the duration of the shutdown.
