Accomplishments for the past period:
- added and tested new functionality in the browser interface
- with much research & testing got a Postscript file to jog on
the IBM printer (critical for GL monthly statements)
- planned & executed test for potential fix to plex/holes problem
- Jody wiped out LPRng on Pillage and replaced it with the older version
running on the Athena print servers
- Jody and Garry had initial success getting KLPR authentication working
with LPRng on Pillage
- presented an update on IPM to VM-SST
- worked with Jeff Schiller and Jonathon Weiss to identify a solution
for authenticating print output from application servers
- reviewed and updated WBS & timeline for remaining work
- performed a little work on the MITSIS conversion; decided to run
them at 240dpi and convert to 300dpi later
- discussed plans for initial new MITSIS printing with ASST; decision
was made not to use IPM on 7/1
- added three new logical destinations to IPM for testing
- continued drafting documentation of admin functions
- added logical destination to pillage for SAP testing of Postscript GL
- started process to set up change management email list
- drafted and received feedback on VM network based printing newsflash
- created access restriction file for Apache subdirectories
- took back the Business Model task from Cecilia; mining her favorite
Business Plan outline for nuggets to enrich our draft of a Business
Model
- IBM has begun submitting weekly status reports
- submitted PCR-02 (sys admin) to procurement and got PO issued to IBM
Goals for the coming period:
- obtain consensus for changes to fix the plex/holes problem
- create V1 of the operations "how to" documentation
- complete work with FSS to resolve jog and other Postscript functions
as needed
- complete KLPR/LPRng testing
- continue to work on access restriction file for Apache subdirectories

- complete the basic web interface
- develop and test the beta operator interface
- finalize change management process
- continue work with ACLs for non-public logical destinations
- continue drafting sys admin documentation
- continue work on MITSIS conversion as time permits (lower priority)
- finish the Business Plan for Enterprise Printing incorporating
the IPM Service
- test VM PSF APAR performance
- implement authentication solution for application servers
- finalize VM net printing newsflash
- begin mainframe customer discussions wrt print file exposure
