EAST Monthly Status Report

Accomplishments for April 2001:
-------------------------------
General
- Met with Ed Dolan to discuss team building
- Conducted initial 1-on-1 meetings with team members
- Met with 2 directors and 3 finance team reps to plan EAST budget
- Set up team web page at http://web.mit.edu/east/www/

COEUS
- Released Coeus 3.7. Production Database was upgraded on 4/21/01.
- Ported Coeus 3.7 to Mac
- Created a deployment kit for Coeus 3.7 for other schools.

SAPweb
- Met with Lorraine to plan future of SAPweb maintenance
- Identified components and stakeholders of SAPweb maintenance
- Obtained root access to SPORKIE and CULEBRA
- Obtained monthly usage report for Theresa Regan

Telecom / ICE9
- Fixed 26 broken service orders for ICE9 application.
- Produced five ad hoc reports.
- Installed software (ICE9-setup & Oracle developer 2000) on 4 machines
  on client side.
- Fixed the bug of icst45p(Multi Line Hunt Group) screen on ICE9 application.
- Delivered the modified version of "checkacct" program, which validates
  all the cost centers for End-of-Month billing, according to the rule
  change of "termination code" based on CAO and Warehouse.


Goals for May 2001:

General
- Finalize plans for team member career development based on outcomes
  from last month's meetings
- Provide cost allocation data for VDIN rate setting effort
- Provide finance team with input for new EAST FY2002 budget
- Work with Roger and Bob to resolve question of EAST operational role
- Incorporate team member suggestions into team web page.
- Plan for eventual transfer of InfoPrint Manager to EAST
- Plan for eventual transfer of Events Calendar to EAST
- Plan JAVA learning (both proctical and classroom) for team members
- Begin discussions with ITAG about VPNs
- Update team information in IS Work database

COEUS
- Work with Mohammad to build/Test Coeus 3.7 installers for both Windows and Mac
- Work on Coeus 3.8, This will be released in about 6 weeks.
- Start learning Java and JBuilder.
- Investigate Sybase tools that convert PowerBuilder Code to Java
- Work with Chuck in testing and evaluating Roles Java APIs

SAPweb
- Transfer SPORKIE to ASST / Athena Ops for maintenance
- Set up "report" userid on CULEBRA for generating reports
- Set up documentation for key SAPweb maintenance tasks
- Make requested changes to displayed help desk phone numbers
- Add requested internal provider to SAPweb
- Create plan for setting up access for Facilities dept.
- Determine feasibility of providing automated SAP system status updates
  to SAPweb customers

Telecom / ICE9
- Analyze and prepare the rate change of phone and non-phone to
  understand what modification needs to be done.
- Analyze the new recommendations of SAP GL feed from customers' request
  to estimate what modification involves.

Issues:
-------
- Need to resolve what operational responsibilities team will have
- Need resources for SAPweb work
- Need to understand impact of recent IS reorg on Jana and Kelly
- Need single local ABST point of contact for purchases and vacations
- Team leader will take significant vacation time in May (9 days)
- Team leader has been asked to participate on MIT's Execellence Awards
  Selection Committee.  The meetings begin in June 2001.
- Team leader will be reluctant to take on any more tasks or projects
  for at least 2 months
- N42 parking has been extremely tight up until this past week.
