Hello,
Attached is a notice from Allison on a job fair on July 28th at which
I/S will be recruiting. Dan Fitzgerald can go between 10-1:30. If anyone
else can go, please let Kathy Allen know and CC: me please. At one these
recent fairs, Jonathan Ives was recruited, so it is possible to find some
real talent. Allison's message follows.
Cheers, Bob

I've mentioned to some of you that CG is coordinating IS involvement in a
Boston Globe job fair. This note is to share that info with all of you and
to solicit your participation and/or participation from some of your key
personnel.
The Job Fair is July 28, at Woburn Crowne Plaza, hours: 10-2, 4-7:30pm.
The Globe plans to have extensive advertising, including a special
supplement the Sunday before (July 26). Advertising for the fair indicates
to interested parties that there are 'no entry level positions'.
Kathy Allen and I are planning to attend. Since we are trying to attract
talented, technical people, it would be helpful to have some of our 'best'
technical folks there (ie folks that would be credible technically, but
also comfortable talking to others in this kind of environment, and who
would present a positive view of work life at MIT.)
If you are interested in participating in the fair, please let Kathy know.
Likewise, point your interested, 'best' folks to Kathy.
In terms of the MIT advertisement and handout - we are not advertising for
specific jobs, but rather our wording talks about the kinds of people we
are looking for. We are also using ideas from the exit interviews, and
articles on attracting people, to focus on the elements of MIT that make us
potentially attractive (casual work environment, flexible hours, leading
edge technology involvement)
We will be using the 'Open Staffing' spreadsheet to focus our attention on
certain kinds of folks (eg Vijay's EdTech positions, Mike Sampson's
openings etc) I've also mentioned the fair to Katie Cochran, relative to
the SAP Test Manager. If you can't attend, but want us to keep our eyes
out for someone in particular, please let Kathy know.
