BZZ!! Wrong answer! :-)

Even if the Internet carried nothing but news, that would not imply
Internet = Usenet; the newsnet includes many sites that aren't on the
Internet, and stating the equality gives people the impression that
the Internet is the only way to get news.

Moreover, since the Internet is used for so *much* more than news,
asserting the equality in the popular press would give the impression
that the Net is much less than it is, and turn popular opinion against
the NREN.
