Here's a heads-up re upcoming Internet press coverage:
Two of the articles I've been writing about the Internet
are now scheduled; here's the scoop:
LAN Times, "How to Join the Internet" (who to call, how to
figure out who), late Septemberish
RS Magazine (sibling of Sun Expert, inaugural issue), October,
"Steps to Joining the Internet" (things that new sites oughta
do)
Both articles should, with luck, be in the issues distributed at
the upcoming Interop 91 show exhibition (and not by coincidence,
mind you:-); I'll probably be carrying copies with me. Both
articles were reviewed by Experts of Good Repute.
However, some errors may have crept in during the editing process,
which I was not able to correct all of. (I.e., I'll take credit
for what's right, but not necessarily for what's wrong or silly,
until I check my original mss.)
Once the articles have appeared in print, I'll investigate the
possibility of posting the text; also, if anyone's interested in
using the articles in newsletters, etc., don't hesitate to contact
me. (Among other things, I'll have pre-edited source text.)
Thanks to all who responded and helped! (The other pieces, Applications
done on the Internet, and NREN Ho, are still in progress -- details
when something is definite.)
