My point was: What happens if C&S pay the $10,000 to become a CIX *MEMBER*
themselves?
Nothing. They've wasted their money. Every end site will put a C&S
filter on their servers. Simple change to inetd (and probably smtpd
aka sendmail). Somewhat less efficient than central filtering, but
more democratic.
C&S are trying to use other people's property without their
permission. There's no combination of tricks C&S could use to get
around that. The only reason they currently can is because no one has
been enough of a jerk to try before.
