Is it only me? We've been worrying and investigating and generally
spritzing about these spurious holdings at least since migration
testing back in March. I may be out of the loop on this, and I
apologize if I'm out of line, but:
It strikes me as a drop-dead, this-system-is-not-working-properly-
at-all issue. I mean, really, this sytem does not work correctly by
any reasonable standard. And we're paying how much?
I wonder if we should be spending our valuable time and energies
trying to figure out why the system does something so egregious as to
create bogus holdings whenever we edit a record. I kind of don't care
"why" the system is creating these holdings; the fact that it does so
strikes me as flat out ridiculous. We cannot use such a system to
create and maintain our catalog and holdings, and in under a month
we're going to be expected to.
I don't know, and I don't mean to be cavalier about this, but can we
as an organization contact Geac and tell them we're not feeling
good about this and want it fixed, like, immediately?
