Hi Mike,
I'm thinking along the same lines as Dax with MRTG. However, if you are
talking about something that may be odd which MRTG doesn't quite fit,
then try RRDTool (http://www.rrdtool.org/). It is more flexible and
will let you visualize most time-series data very well, but you have to
script the data collection. Also check out Cricket
(http://cricket.sourceforge.net/) which uses RRDTool.
