We here at the University of Maine at Presque Isle are using a home-
grown solution, using a Microsoft Access database stored on a Netware
server, so that all the staff have ready access to it. We have a dozen
simple Visual Basic CGI programs which provide WWW-based
access to the most important functions.
Our front end has been developed over the years to serve our needs
admirably, without having to fit it into someone else's preconceptions
of what a "help desk" should be.
