Joseph,

We have had moderate success with that method, but in our experience it see=
ms that some things still end up getting reset at first login. Have others=
had more consistent performance from this technique?

Hi Nick,
Are you using Windows System Image Manger that is included with WAIK to =
create a sysprep file? Part of sysprep gives an option to copy the administ=
rator profile over to the default user profile. You run sysprep to automate=
a lot of configuration changed before doing your final tweaks specific for=
you user. I have been using this method since the release of Win7 and it w=
orks well. Here is more info on the option in sysprep. If you need more gui=
dance, feel free to contact me.

Subject: Windows 7 Default User Modification

All,

We've tried a whole host of techniques for imaging Windows 7, and we've ha=
d a fair amount of success, but one thing that is a constant headache for u=
s is trying to modify / customize the default user profile. We've found v=
ery comfortable work around (probably best practices anyway) for some thing=
s but there are other profile-specific changes that we need to make for eve=
ry user who logs onto a machine, and just haven't found a good way to do th=
at in Win 7 like we could with XP.

Does anyone have any success stories? Tips, tricks, techniques, third part=
y solutions?

I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks!
