Here at ACU our various departments will make the rules for their own labs,
and some of them still have a no food or drink policy. Our main "lab" area
on Campus, however, is our Learning Commons which also has a coffee shop and
food and drink is perfectly acceptable.
In the five years that this space has been open I've only had one computer
wind up caffeinated. It was one of our 4-hour checkout laptops and the
student responsible knew it was her fault and made no fuss about paying for
the replacement.

I think the lab machines are probably going to be germ-infested and gross w=
