I can't recommend strongly enough that colleges register their own IP
address space with ARIN. Owning your own address space makes you
independent of your ISP and saves you a huge amount of work if you need to
change providers (or just threaten to) or if your provider goes out of
business. Registering with ARIN is easy, inexpensive, and can avoid major
headaches.
