The information that we are interested in gathering would be:
* How many student workers Information Technology at your instituti=
on employs? 85-100 depending on the size of our training group
* What is the size of your school? 1600 students private, liberal a=
rts
* What incentives exist for your student workers in terms of promot=
ions? Several "certifications" , learning opportunities, leadership positio=
ns
* What is the salary structure for your student employees? 7.50/hr =
trainee, 8.25/hr regular, 8.85/hr student leader/supervisor
* If there is a standard campus salary at your institution? If ther=
e is, what is it? see above, I have no control over salary, so our mentors =
make 8.85 while they are mentoring, however we have other rewards programs/=
opportunities that are not based on salary. We promote their training and =
experience and how it will help them in their career choices.

* What other benefits and perks do your students receive by working=
with you? social events like movie night, origami sumo wrestling, trivia c=
hallenge against IT staff, picnic, golden disk awards (spray painted 5.25 i=
n floppies given as awards)
I have also pulled students out from babysitting labs and we do more helpde=
sk functions, dorm outreach and mobile support through texting and chat. I=
have tried to move the resources to where they are needed most.
We would really appreciate any information that you are willing to provide =
us with. Our students have great potential, but they as well as we are left=
frustrated by our inability to provide them with continuing incentives to =
grow as employees. A majority of our students do not major in technical are=
as so many of them will not continue in the technology field. We feel as th=
ough we need to provide some incentive to keep them interested in working f=
or us.
