Hi,
Since wireless is the hot topic of the week=85

We still have many buildings have wired connection only. But from this com=
ing August, we will provide wireless connection only in student rooms due =
to the aging switches and the replacement cost will be too high on top of =
the wireless installation. We plan to install only a handful of switches,=
so users will have to request it and let us know why they need a wired con=
nection.

To prepare ahead, I would like to know:

1. Do you have more wireless support issues than wired issues at the begin=
ning of the semester?
2. If you only provide wireless, what kind of common issues do you encou=
nter? Do users complain about no ethernet ports?
2. If you still have both wired and wireless in rooms, please let me know =
why users won't use wireless and the percentage of devices on wired ports. =
Are they connected to ethernet only because their desktop or consoles don'=
t have the wireless built-in or because of other reasons such as speed and =
reliability?

Thank you all in advance.

Wendy
