Hey, ResNetters,
=20
A few questions:
=20
Can you give me some pointers on getting iPads, iPods, Droids, and other
smartphones and slates to work right on our campus network?
=20
Also, do you have any advice for keeping up with the constant changes in
smartphone models and OTA updates, and how they impact the ability to
get your school e-mail?
=20
While we're at it, I know there are some schools doing stuff with cool
apps, and I've love to get some ideas on how your students have
responded to those - and how your support staff has responded, as well.
For that matter, I know some schools have started up some iPad labs.
How on earth do you manage those labs, both from a software and a
physical device perspective?
=20
If you can answer any of these questions, though, don't e-mail me.
=20
Present about it!
=20
Right now, the programming committee is soliciting presentations for the
Student Technology Conference at Yale University (June 17-21), and we're
debuting a new track this year, specifically focused on mobile
computing. If your school is actually provisioning mobile devices, or
if you're involved in configuring or somehow leveraging mobile devices,
or if you simply have insights on how to support the ever-changing array
of mobile technology, please consider going to this website, and
submitting a proposal for a presentation:

=20
If you have some ideas, but aren't quite sure if there's a presentation
in those ideas, please e-mail me or Chester Andrews, theme guides for
this year's mobility track. We'd love to hear from you and talk about
your ideas.
