You can outsource your NOC, or at least the critical portions of it, so that
a human will send pages, calls, etc. until they get a hold of someone.
Nothing beats the flexibility of a human.

The one thing that comes up every time is coverage. How do folks deal with
the basement/data center/poor coverage areas for cell/sms? There are plenty
of places that have no coverage due to being underground or just on the
fringe enough of coverage that we keep going back to pagers.
