What a blast-from-the-past. I didn't know they still made pagers :-)
I really like the idea of using a tethered cell phone someone else
mentioned. We've got a drawer full of old Razr handsets, and I think
the Motorola Phone Tools software provides an API for doing SMS over a
USB tether. Add it to our "business family plan", no need for $30/mo
data "feature". Might actually be less expensive than a land line for a
modem, and eliminates as many failure points as possible between us and
the intended message recipient.
On the original subject of this thread - we use InterMapper
