All,
It would be silly to ask, "Do you see a lot of smartphones on your campus?" or "Have you seen many iPods at your school?" or "Have you heard a lot of buzz about Android or iPads?"
Because you have. It's an increasing part of our students' worlds -- and that makes it an increasing part of our worlds.
Not many of us, though, have a background in mobile computing, and all that buzz can be dizzying. It's easy to get lost in a storm of different devices and operating systems. It can be tempting to throw up our hands and say, "Well, it really doesn't matter, because those are their personal devices."
But I know better than that. I know what a bunch of creative thinkers we have in our ResNet community, and I know that some of you could help cut through the confusion for the rest of us, and maybe give us some ideas on how to move beyond understanding mobile computer into actually making use of it.
Right now, the programming committee is soliciting presentations for the Student Technology Conference at Yale University (June 17-21), and we're debuting a new track this year, specifically focused on mobile computing. If your school is actually provisioning mobile devices, or if you're involved in configuring or somehow leveraging mobile devices, or if you simply have insights on how to support the ever-changing array of mobile technology, please consider going to this website, and submitting a proposal for a presentation:

If you have some ideas, but aren't quite sure if there's a presentation in those ideas, please e-mail me or Chester Andrews, theme guides for this year's mobility track. We'd love to hear from you and talk about your ideas.
