In the "don't go there product" I would just highly recommend against the Barracuda product. I had a disastrous implementation that we ended up having to back out.
Back when I ran a Fortigate appliance we used the URL/Content filter add-on and it was pretty decent.

Randall,
Our campus also uses the Palo-Alto platform for our perimeter firewall. It has been a night and day difference versus the old Checkpoint NGX deployment we formerly had. May I contact you off listserv and pick your brain regarding your experiences with the PA's content/URL filtering capabilities in conjunction with its abilities to block peer-to-peer traffic? We are about to enable our 30-day trial with it, and it would be nice to speak with someone who has been down that road already. Thanks.

At the University we use Palo-Alto to limit peer to peer. At home I use OpenDNS paid service enforced by the gargoyle router.

Subject: URL/Content Filtering Recomendations
A couple departments on campus have specifically asked for use to provide them with a content/URL filtering solution for select systems. That last time I had experience with content filtering was with N2H2 6-7 years ago.
I was wondering what the good tried and tested products are now for doing this?
Thanks much!
