I have a Windows 7 (32-bit) user with a new iPhone, and it requires the new=
version of iTunes (v. 10), which in turn requires Quicktime 7.6.9.
Everytime we try installing the new Quicktime, it comes back with an error =
saying there's already a newer version of
Quicktime and that's that. I've researched this phenomenon and it's apparen=
tly quite common; I found numerous
threads on various support/forum sites reporting the same issue, with vario=
us remedies, ranging from using the
Microsoft Cleanup Tool, to Ccleaner, to deleting registry keys. I have trie=
d all these steps, to no avail. I even
downloaded some older versions of Quicktime, and I actually got 7.2 to inst=
all. This is fine for viewing Quicktime clips,
but not for installing iTunes.
Any advice?
