We've rolled out GW1X, our 802.1x network, for mobile devices in response to
the iPad launch last year (happy new year!). We had one issue getting people
the profile for iOS devices when they weren't on a working network, but we
placed that on a splashscreen for our primarily wireless network and that
worked out for people.
Our biggest issue has been supporting the wide variety of faculty/staff
devices (BBerries, Android, iOS) and their issues with e-mail, contacts and
calendars. We worked with procurement to select only a handful of approved
devices, our desktop support technicians then all have these phones so we
have 'experts' on each handheld. I'll admit, the technicians like it because
we turn over their phones pretty quickly so they can learn a new phone as
they get released by the vendors.
