I know everyone is tired of hearing about the problems with TNVT220 and stuff,
but emacs *does* work on decstations [hey, I'm using it now, and everything
works fine!!]. The problem is that the decstations detect the type of terminal
as a 'dec-vt100', which, although it may work fine with vi, doesn't work too
well with emacs. I don't know whose fault this is, but I'd be happy to blame
it on Novell :-) By the way, vt220 is also detected as dec-vt220.
The simple solution is to either type "term vt100" before starting up emacs
or put it in .startup.tty.
And no, I don't know enough about emacs to hack it so it works otherwise :-)
