As we move to implement residential networking on campus, we run into one snafu.

There are a few students with Mac's and LaserWriters that must connect to
the Mac via Appletalk. Since we are basing our residence network on
ethertalk, there appears to be no way these students can set the Mac to
talk both to the network and the printer simultaneously.

At present, these students use the network control panel resource to switch
between the two networks depending on whether they want to network or
print, but we'd much prefer a more elegant solution.

Does anyone know of a good way around this other than to install an
ethernet adapter for the printer as well. We're not too happy about this
approach because of the cost and because this suddenly makes someone's
personal printer seem like a public resource to the rest of the College.
