This is a particularly timely thread for us - we're in the process of
writing documentation and providing options for users here at Bucknell, but
part of that documentation will be very clear that we are not helping with
the process, even a little bit!

We'll provide documentation that can be followed, and if they can't follow
it, we're going to recommend that they hire someone who can. Because the
situation that you describe, Rachel, is an endless hole of tech support
involving IMAP this and .csv that, transferring ownership of Docs, POP
server settings, etc. . . . none of which makes any sense to users, and
none of which can be easily explained over the phone or in person.
