Have anyone taken a serious look at the Ubiquiti IN-WALL AP solution for residence hall rooms?

https://www.ubnt.com/unifi/unifi-ap-wall/

I ordered a 5 pack for testing.

We use the Ubiquiti wireless bridges to extend the campus LAN to off campus leased properties and have had great success.

I know there is a knock on Ubiquiti for the controller software but it looks like it is getting better.

My big question is how would you go about naming the networks in every room? Or should I say would you name the networks for every room?

Some thoughts I had:

Name each WAP in every room by dorm name and room number. Then run the network like a hotspot network requiring auth to the WAP. This way if a group of students studied in a room they could jump on that room WAP.

OR - set up two SSIDs on the IN-WALL. A generic for the entire campus (we have that now) plus a room specific SSID.

I am starting to see a trend towards WAPs in every room and I just can't justify a $300-600 AP per room. Plus the software licensing is a killer.

I plan on taking a deeper dive into the Ubiquiti IN-WALL over break but wanted to get some of your opinions. I don't want to waste my time if others have traveled this road before.
