Our DEC reps have been pitching the ChannelWorks product, too, although it
appears to us to be more effective as a way of bringing remote *buildings*
onto the Internet (assuming a nearby CATV cable) than to deliver Ethernet
to *individuals.*
I'm told this product:
- Originated from DEC's need to connect its Boston-area employees
- Has been used to advantage at Arizona State U
- Is built into the plans for the Pittsburgh "Common Knowledge" project,
which aims to connect some k12 schools to the Internet.
